Mid Devon District Council’s 2026-2028 Green Enterprise Grants


This is a capital grant scheme that supports Mid Devon businesses, social enterprises and charities to reduce their carbon footprint and move toward a net-zero future.

This scheme offers capital grants covering up to 50% of eligible project costs, with individual grants ranging from £500 to a maximum of £5,000. Please note that applications will not be accepted for projects with total costs exceeding £30,000 (including VAT).

Who can apply?

The scheme is open to Mid Devon‑based:

  • SMEs and social enterprises
  • Multi-purpose, charity‑owned and community‑managed village halls, parish halls and community centres

Applicants must have been trading or operating for at least two years, be financially viable, and hold a business/organisation bank account.

Eligible project types

Projects must demonstrate clear and measurable carbon‑saving outcomes. Examples include:

  • Low‑carbon heating and cooling upgrades
  • Renewable energy installations (e.g. solar thermal)
  • Energy‑efficient lighting, sensors, and control systems
  • Insulation and building fabric improvements
  • Water‑efficiency measures
  • Equipment that reduces, reuses, or recycles resources and waste
