We need Tenant Representatives!
Are you passionate about improving the lives of tenants and ensuring they have a safe, supportive, and positive rental experience? We're looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Tenant Representatives to join our team and help us make a difference in the communities we serve. We want to make sure you are involved in our policy and decision-making processes and that we offer a wide range of opportunities for you to have your say.
What will you do as a Tenant Rep?
As a volunteer Tenant Representative, you'll be the voice of tenants, scrutinise our performance, comment on service improvements, and any proposals that may affect you ensuring tenants concerns are heard and their needs are met. You’ll also help foster a sense of community, build positive relationships, and advocate for tenant rights.
What we need from you?
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A compassionate, empathetic, and patient approach to dealing with people.
- Problem-solving abilities with a focus on finding practical solutions.
- Experience in customer service, community work, or similar fields is a plus but not an essential!
- Be a tenant or leaseholder of Mid Devon Housing
- You agree to represent the interest of all tenants and leaseholders
- You agree to follow a Code of Conduct
- You are confident in using a computer, email, working with documents and websites
- You will attend quarterly meetings online or in person
Interested? The roles we have are:
Publications Representative: The role is to work with our teams on our resident publications including our Housing Newsletter and Annual Report.
Complaints Representative: This involves actively reviewing our approach to complaints we receive from our tenants, residents and leaseholders. You will work with the Housing Team to look at complaints, ensure we are being fair, are putting things right and learning from outcomes.
Estates Representative : The Estate Rep role will involve the monitoring of grounds maintenance, and if applicable, communal cleaning and communal fire alarm testing, in your area. You will be asked to carry out inspections and report back to MDH once a month.
Sustainability Rep: To work with MDH in our commitment to zero carbon by 2030. We’re looking for people who care about the future and are willing to support us in making green improvements to their home and community.
