Mid Devon District Council has been allocated additional funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) to support project delivery between June 2025 and March 2026. Devon County Council is the Accountable Body on behalf of the Combined County Authority.
There are two grants schemes available:
1. Improving our Visitor Economy Assets
A capital grant scheme to improve Mid Devon’s Visitor Economy assets (tourism, cultural or heritage assets).
-Tourism assets mean permanent public buildings or sites that act as an attraction for visitors to the location.
-Cultural assets mean permanent public buildings or sites for the exhibition or promotion of arts and culture, including, but not limited to museums, arts venues, exhibition centres, theatres, libraries, and film facilities.
- Heritage assets mean any buildings on an appropriate heritage list, for example the National Heritage List for England (NHLE).
Objectives
Improve Mid Devon’s Visitor Economy assets (priority will be given to town centre based visitor economy assets) in order to Improve Visitor experiences and increases users of facilities/amenities
2. Community Commercial Hubs
A capital grant scheme to support the creation of or improvements to community commercial space located in Mid Devon’s towns and villages This could include but are not limited to – the creation or improvement of community delivered retail spaces, pubs, cafes and workspace to let i.e. hot desk facilities, work hubs and industrial space. These can be ‘standalone’ spaces or incorporated into multi use centres such as town, village and community halls.
Objective
Create or improve community commercial space to support local and community businesses
