Mid Devon Housing's (MDH) Right to Buy Policy is now open for tenant consultation from the 29th November - 31st December 2024.
The policy includes the Housing (Right to Buy)(Limits on Discount)(England) Order 2024 which was introduced by Government and came into force on the 21st November 2024. This order sets a limit on the amount of discount that would be awarded to tenants. For Mid Devon tenants, the maximum discount which can be applied is £30,000.
The policy is determined by legislation and MDH cannot deviate from the rules and processes already put in place and determined by:
Housing Act 1985 (as amended) Part V - Right to Buy
Housing (Preservation of Right to Buy)(Amendment) Regulations 1999
Housing (Right of First Refusal)(England) Regulations 1999.
The policy and procedure is available to view in the documents section of this page.
We want to ensure that any decisions we make on housing related policies, reflect the needs of our tenants. If you have any feedback on the policy, please contact the Tenant Involvement team on 01884 255255, email tenantinvolvement@middevon.gov.uk or use the comments section below.
