The results of a six-week-long survey open to all Mid Devon residents were discussed by the Council’s Cabinet in March 2025.

The resident and budget survey ran from 30 October to 11 December 2024, with 433 residents completing the questionnaire.

Results from the survey have been used to feed into the Council’s budget setting process and will play an important role in shaping upcoming projects and service improvements, ensuring that community priorities are reflected in decision-making.

Questions included topics such as climate change and dealing with economic pressures, as well as listening to how communities feel about current service provision and where the Council can improve.

Andrew Jarrett, Deputy Chief Executive and S151 Officer, said:

“We are grateful to everyone who took the time to share their views. The survey provides valuable insights into what matters most to our community, and we are committed to using this feedback to tailor our services.

“It is positive to see that most questions have seen improved responses compared to last year’s survey. While there is always more work to do, it’s reassuring to see that the steps that we’ve taken so far are making a difference.”

The Council’s Cabinet met on 4 March 2025 to discuss the findings of the survey, and a summary of the results is now available. Individual Cabinet members will work with their service managers to establish improvement plans in order to address residents’ feedback.
