Mid Devon in Bloom
Mid Devon in Bloom is back for 2025. Tenants from across the district are invited to showcase their creativity and horticultural skills in a variety of exciting categories. Whether you have a love for creating lush, colourful flower beds or a knack for sustainable gardening practices, there's a category for everyone to shine.
Community Corner: Have you worked as a team with other residents to maintain your communal garden? This category is for you. Please note the prize for this category will work differently. We will award a £50 voucher to spend on equipment, plants or what deems reasonable for your community garden.
Best Garden: Awarded to the most outstanding garden in MDH.
Best wildlife or sustainable garden: Awarded to a garden that supports biodiversity with wildflowers and wildlife (think bug hotels, bird boxes, hedgehog houses). Or maybe you have included recycled elements into your garden? Even your own vegetable patch! This is the category for you.
Best Young Gardener: This entry is for those aged 5-16. This could be a sunflower you have grown, a bug garden you’ve created or maybe you've planted a hanging basket. Whatever you’ve worked on in your garden we want to see it.
Baskets and Containers: Awarded to the best hanging baskets, window boxes, balconies or planters.
Best Edible Garden: Awarded to those gardeners who grow their own produce in their gardens.
Prizes include a £50 gift voucher for the winner of each category and £15 voucher for each category runner up!
Simply choose your category (you can enter more than one) and send us at least three photos via the form below, the Mid Devon Housing Facebook page or email us at tenantinvolvement@middevon.gov.uk. We can also visit you to take photos. When sending your photos please include your full name and address, include your age too if entering an age related category.
Competition closes on the 25th August 2025
